Adoption FAQ’s

  • Start by browsing our available animals online or visiting the shelter in person. Once you find a pet you’re interested in, our team will guide you through the adoption process, which includes an application and a conversation to make sure the match is a good fit for both the animal and your household.

  • All HSBR pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before going home. Dogs and cats also receive age-appropriate medical care and preventative treatments while in our care.

  • Adoption fees vary depending on the animal’s age and medical care. These fees help cover the cost of vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and other care provided while the animal is with us.

Services FAQ’s

  • We accept owner surrenders by application only.

  • If you find a stray animal, first check for a collar or identification. You can also take the pet to a local veterinarian or shelter to be scanned for a microchip. If the owner cannot be located, contact HSBR for guidance on next steps.

  • HSBR is not animal control and does not provide field pickup services, by law. Stray animals should be reported to your local animal control office.
